BEAN WEEK – CHICKPEAS

Beans are the fruits or seeds of the Fabaceae plant family. Eaten world wide and considered very healthy due to their fiber and high b vitamin content, beans have been around for thousands of years and eaten by civilisations as early as the Aztecs.

Also known as garbanzo beans, chickpeas are rich in fiber and protein. Studies have shown they can aid weight loss and even reduce the risk of cancers, specifically when they replace red meat in the diet.
