Skullcrushers – They might sound intimidating but they’re fantastic for focusing purely on the triceps and their strength. Lying flat on your back, hold a dumbbell or barbell over your head with both hands at around a 90 degree angle, then extend both arms upwards from your elbows.

Best bicep exercise?

Barbell bicep curl! Using a barbell is great for developing strength and better than using dumbbells alone. It is important that you’re not using momentum to throw the weight around and that you’re not leaning backwards.

Best chest exercise?

Barbell bench press! It’s good for generating overall power and allows you to lift the most weight in any chest exercise.

Best shoulder exercise?

You can’t really beat a barbell push press! You can load up the weight and perform many repetitions. Place the barbell atop your upper chest, push upwards from the balls of your feet and explode upwards pushing with your shoulders.

How to stay motivated
