Although apples, compared to other fruits don’t actually contain many vitamins or minerals they do actually contain lots of plant chemicals (which is a good thing). One of these being ‘flavonoid quercetin’ which has a natural anti-inflammatory action, another being ‘pectin’ which is a source of soluble fibre that can help lower bad cholesterol. So next time you are heading to the grocery store make sure you pick up a few of these and see if you can see the benefits, remember not to keep them in a light hot room as they will rapidly lose their vitamin C value.
