Foam rolling is to do with the mobility of the fascia. Fascia is a fibrous layer of connective tissue that surrounds all of the muscles in our body. In layman’s terms it means it can help with our flexibility, circulation and break down any lactic acid we have in our muscles, meaning it is also great for muscular injury’s and rehabilitation. They can be used on various muscles throughout the body however most commonly used on the legs for runners.
